1. General information
The main goal of the subject of Economics of the European Union is the deep knowledge of the EU, as an economic and institutional framework that conditions the actions of public and private economic agents in Spain. In particular, provides students with knowledge of the economic analysis of economic integration processes that will enable them to identify the keys necessary to anticipate and interpret future events.
These approaches and goals are aligned with some of the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs, of the Agenda 2030, contributing to their achievement. Specifically, they are SDG 10: Reducing inequality within and between countries. Goal 10.3, Goal 10.5 and Goal 10.a. and GOAL 17: Revitalizing the global partnership for sustainable development. Especially with the goals linked to policy and institutional coherence such as Goal 17.13, Goal 17.14 and Goal 17.17.

3. Syllabus
BLOCK I. INTRODUCTION: THEORY OF ECONOMIC INTEGRATION AND GLOBAL VISION OF EUROPEAN INTEGRATION.
Unit 1. Basic foundations of the theory of economic integration.
Unit 2. Global vision of the European integration process.
BLOCK II. MARKET INTEGRATION
Unit 3. The Customs Union and the Foreign Trade Policy of the European Union.
Unit 4. The construction of the European Single Market.
BLOCK III. MONETARY INTEGRATION
Unit 5. Monetary integration.
BLOCK IV. THE EU BUDGET AND INTERNAL POLICIES
Unit 6. The budget of the European Union.
Unit 7. The Cohesion Policy of the European Union.
4. Academic activities
4.1. FACE-TO-FACE ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES
Master class: 30 hours (theoretical-practical sessions in which the contents of the subject will be explained).
Practical exercises: 30 hours (problem solving and case studies, assignments, face-to-face tutorials and site visits field).
Personal study and preparation of practical assignments: 85 hours.
Assessment tests. 5 hours.
4.2. VIRTUAL ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES
Synchronous and asynchronous activities: 15 hours (theoretical-practical sessions [videoconferences and/or learning pills] at where the contents of the subject will be explained).
Distance learning activities: 15 hours (virtual network work or activities on the Moodle platform or online tutorials).
Personal study and preparation of practical assignments: 115 hours.
Assessment tests. 5 hours.
5. Assessment system
5.1. PRESENCE-BASED MODALITY
5.1.1. Continuous assessment (in first call). It consists of the following activities:
A. Continuous work during the year. It consists of completing the different exercises and questions posed by the teacher in Moodle throughout the year. It constitutes 20% of the final grade.
B. Intermediate classroom test I. It consists of the resolution of a theoretical-practical exercise related to topics 1 to 4 (Part I and II). It constitutes 40% of the final grade.
C. Intermediate classroom test II. It consists of the resolution of a theoretical-practical exercise related to topics 5 to 7 (Part III and IV). It constitutes 40% of the final grade.
In any of the three activities a minimum grade of 4 out of 10 points is required.
5.1.2. Global test (in first and second call)
Students who do not opt for continuous evaluation or who do not pass the course by this procedure or who wish to improve their grade, may take a global test on the official date set by the Center. The global test consists of the resolution of a theoretical-practical exercise in which the student must answer different questions related to the subject studied. The result of the global test, graded from 0 to 10 points, will be the final grade obtained in the subject.
In the first call, the grade of the continuous work during the course will be kept and each student will take the exam at the subject corresponding to the intermediate test(s) that he/she has not passed or wishes to improve his/her grade. In the second convocation the test will be of the whole subject.
5.2. VIRTUAL MODE
The virtual students, in continuous evaluation, develop only activity A. Continuous work during the course and constitutes 30% of the final grade of the continuous evaluation and activity B. Final online test. It is done online, Task in Moodle, and by videoconference. It is graded from 0 to 10 points. It constitutes 70% of the continuous evaluation grade.
In the second method of evaluation, a global test, the student is evaluated on the entire course. In the first call, the grade of the continuous work exercises together with the global test is kept and, in any case, the best of the grades obtained (continuous work and global test or only global test) prevails. In second call, the grade of the global test constitutes the final grade.
